Welcome to the ground floor.
I’ve talked to several of you in person and I think this is a good idea that deserves action.
The Civilian Defense Industry
A term coined by T-Rex Arms. Something that I both get behind and agree with. While I’ve never bought anything from T-Rex Arms, I have kept an eye on their projects and agreed with many of their products. This is an expansion on one of them.
Official Offering
AI combat assistant. Isaac created an entry level, very capable system that almost anyone can step into. I aim to do the same, and then open source it. You can either buy one from me, or build it all out yourself. You pick. This model has gotten me to where I am technologically. Linux and the open source community has been amazing, and I want to give back in my own way. So, here’s the promise: You can buy mine, or build your own. I’ll open source all my tools, and how-to documentation.
Cool, What does it do?
Glad you asked. It vastly expands an individual’s capability. I would say that 90% of prepared citizens are on their own. They don’t have some kind of larger entity to support them, and groups can be finicky. It’s Dad, Mom, and the kids. So, in this community, a single tool that does a ton of things well, and by voice, is a huge advantage. It makes Dad and Mom, vastly more capable of defending their family, and then their community.
Specifics
Designed to be an a modular, all in one, AI combat assistant. The Device uses verbal commands to execute hardware actions. Using LLM’s (Large Language Models), specific commands, and a vast array of training data, this project allows a single user to access more, and communicate better than ever.
- Full Edge Computing (No Internet Connection)
- LoRa Mesh Communications
- SDR (Software Defined Radio)
- ADSB (Air Data Signals Broadcasting)
- Bluetooth (Very Short Range)
- GPS
- AR Goggles (Basic HUD)
All of these capabilities built into a single machine that is voice activated is quite the package already. The goal is to add more, and have modular capabilities for specializations. One of the long term goals is to have personalities like Jarvis and Cortana. Each of the basic systems, and instructions, open sourced and downloadable from our GitHub and Docker repositories/containers.
Some of the additional modules would include: Machine Vision (on advanced models), TTP’s and SOP’s (Customized Checklists and Data), Military TM’s and FM’s (Large Library of accessible texts), and advanced drone controls.
WHEN!
Well, we need your support to make this happen. Currently I am building the software, by myself. I’m a Machinist, not a software person, but it’s 2025 and I want this project for personal use too. I read Ironman and Ghost in the Shell, and played Halo. A lot! This has been a long time coming, and now even a non-developer like me can take YouTube tutorials and build this thing out!
So, if you’d like to financially support us, buy merch or donate directly to the project! If you’d like to help with a Pull Request, that would be AMAZING! I am literally using LLM’s and YouTube to teach me how to do this.
