About the Author.

I spent nine years in the military in reconnaissance roles, and participated in The Surge from ’06 to almost ’08. During my career I was fortunate enough to meet some amazing people. After the Army I continued to train, looking for the ever illusive ‘Team‘ that I very much missed. This lead me to a group of locals in Oregon where I trained with K from Combat Studies Group (CSG). Since that first class in 2011, I’ve assisted with multiple CSG courses to include beta testing some advanced courses.

The education I have received from CSG is nothing short of amazing and I credit K with the vast majority of what I know when it comes to field craft as a whole. Over the years of training with K I have been blessed to meet even more amazing people and train in areas and scenarios that have been nothing less than life changing. I am truly grateful to him for all the time he’s mentored me.

My Why:

What motivates me to undergo training and continue to train and teach others is: my family. I have a wife and two daughters who continue to humble me with their love and support. My wife is my favorite human on this planet, and I have been blessed to be with her since around 1999. We’ve spent our whole lives together and I would be a horrible train wreck if it was not for her love and support.

They are the reason I do this, train for scenarios I pray will never happen, and devote time to training those around me, and helping everyone I can however I can. It is not for the hate of who is in front of me, it is for the love of who stands behind me.

I’m also doing this because I want to help as many people as possible. I frequently get asked my opinion on things we cover in this blog. Most of, if not all the posts on this page were generated by questions people asked me.

What makes me special? I am uniquely gifted in how I explain things to people. My goal is to educate and empower people to be better than they were yesterday. That goal assists me in communicating in a way that develops specific skills and outcomes for people. I am deeply fulfilled by helping others.

I also receive a lot of fulfillment from writing, both on the computer and on paper. I just love to write!

My hope is to help people, people just getting started, people who are deep in the weeds, and people who have lost interest or hit a dead end.

One of the things that is also my goal is to make this a life style a whole business. To be home with my family and do great things with them and to inspire others to do the same.
